Author Spotlight: Jim Harrison
Over the past two years Harrison has released two of the best books written we've read in a very long time: the masterpiece Songs of Unreason and what will go down as a classic, The River Swimmer. When most writers fade out as they get older or, worse, have nothing to say from the beginning, Jim Harrison's work just keeps getting better. His poetry and fiction sings with wide open spaces and never fails to seek the places of the heart that need opening. Always arguing for a more engaged and vital living, his work echoes with those feelings as well. You can't read his books and not feel that you've been pushed to get your hands in a bit deeper, or asked to let your heart open and go that much more. If you haven't discovered his work yet it is high time that you did.
