First Thursday Poetry December

Farley's First Thursday
Poetry Reading Series

Featuring Rodger Lowenthal, Mike Cohen, and Steve Delia

On Thursday, Dec 7, Farley's Bookshop in New Hope, PA will feature poets: Rodger Lowenthal, Mike Cohen, and Steve Delia beginning at 7 PM. The reading is followed by an Q&A with the poets and an open reading (one poem per poet), so bring a poem (yours or that of a favorite poet) to share!

Rodger Lowenthal has lived in the Phila area, these many years. He has been featured at a reasonable number of poetry events, so that he has a hard core following of around 8 fans. He is looking forward to the Farley's reading.

Mike Cohen hosts Poetry Aloud and Alive at Philadelphia's Big Blue Marble Book Store. His articles on sculpture appear in the Schuylkill Valley Journal in which he is a contributing editor. His wry writing has appeared in the Mad Poets Review, Apiary Magazine, Fox Chase Review, and other journals. Mike has performed in cafes, libraries, book stores and venues including Princeton’s Café Improv, the Pen and Pen Club, the Hedgerow Theatre, Fergie’s Pub, Harlem’s Apollo Theater, and neither least nor last, Philadelphia’s Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Mike's poetry can be found at and in his book BETWEEN THE I'S

Steve Delia started writing poetry at age 17. The math takes it to 40 years now. Hard to believe! He has read at many venues over those 40 years including all kinds of coffee houses, libraries, book stores and now can add Farley's to the list. He has read with Mike Cohen at Cafe Improv as half of the dueling poets. He also has read on his favorite radio station WXPN. He won first prize in 2015 at the Phila Writers conference.

His goal is to spend a night with Nicole Kidman. Besides Nicole, he loves trains, The Beatles, scrapple, cheesecake, the number 4, the color green, candles and Dachshunds.
